Q. Is securing insurance as simple as filling out the proposal form online, printing it and making payment?
A. Coverage will only begin once a signed proposal form has been received by email, fax (or post) to our specialist Michelle Govier, together with payment via the PayPal portal using actual PayPal or a credit card.
Rest assured that Michelle will be in contact with you ASAP if more details are required. You will be issued via email with your policy documents and a tax receipt for your files.
Q. How much do I have to pay when I make a claim?
A. Nil
Q. We create our own products for our clients. Are we covered for these?
A. Cover is automatically included for products manufactured, supplied or sold by you, in the course of your business. You are only covered for products that you sell in Australia.
Q. Will this policy cover me if I practice while I am travelling?
A. The cover is for Australia only.
Q. We don't just practice, we also teach. Are we covered for teaching / training / workshops?
A. Yes, by request, and at no additional cost.
Q. What does the combined policy cover me for?
A. Professional Indemnity covers your legal liability to pay compensation for personal injury to third parties or damage to their property, and financial loss arising out of any act, error or omission:

in the provision of professional advice;

in the provision of professional treatment;and

in the provision of any other professional service which may be rendered in the course of business and for which you are properly qualified.
Q. What is meant by cover for 'Goods Sold and Supplied'?
A. Products Liability covers your legal ability to pay compensation for personal injury to third parties or damage to their property, and financial loss arising out of any 'product' once they have passed out of the control of the practitioner.
Q. What is covered up 'General Liability' cover?
A. General Liability covers your general legal liability attaching as a result of carrying on the business. Examples of the type of liability include matters such as:

defective furniture, such as a chair collapsing and causing injury;

damaged carpet leading someone to slip

fire damage to leased premises for which the Practioner may be responsible under the Lease or at Common Law.
